1. Web site developer – 1 Position

We have a summer Job opportunity available for a Website Developer at Nepalese Canadian Heritage Centre and Temple, Ottawa (NCHCTO).

Duties/Responsibilities
– Assist with designing the current website to reflect scope and activities of NCHCTO.
– Operate the website on day-to-day and operational basis.
– Address company support requests in a timely and efficient manner.
– Desktop Publishing (MS Office) with some Graphics Design, Content Management Systems like WordPress, Joomla, Magento, Drupal.
– Understanding UI, cross-browser compatibility, and general web functionality and standards.
– Ability to create webpages that are optimized for all devices. 
– Collaborating with team members to determine the website’s layout, content, and design.
– Cyber Security Support, Basic Computer Hardware Maintenance.
– Complete any other support tasks, as assigned by the Management, which will help ensure successful completion.

Qualifications:
– Excellent customer service skills
– Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
– Comprehensive knowledge and experience with HTML and CSS
– Experience using WordPress.
– Ability to design and understand design ideas and concepts.
– Familiarity with creating user-friendly and easy-to-navigate web pages.

Criteria
The applicant must be:
– between 15 to 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
– is a Canadian Citizen, Permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act [S.C. 2001, c. 27] and
– is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.

2. Information technology (IT) Analyst – 1 position

Duties/Responsibilities
– Analyze, define, and document complex system requirements and business processes.
– Document current and future states using process map diagrams, flowcharts, and other supporting documentation.
– Design, develop and implement information systems business solutions.
– Conduct gap analysis and identify opportunities for process automation.

Qualifications:
– Excellent customer service skills.
– Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
– Comprehensive knowledge and experience Sharepoint and/or document sharing platform.
– Working knowledge and experience with email migration from different platforms.
– Ability to design and understand design ideas and concepts.
– Familiarity with creating user-friendly and easy-to-navigate design.
– Complete any other support tasks, as assigned by the Management, which will help ensure successful completion.

We have a summer Job opportunity available for an Office Administrative Assistant at Nepalese Canadian Heritage Centre and Temple, Ottawa (NCHCTO).

Duties/Responsibilities
– Organize and schedule appointments and meetings.
– Maintain contact lists.
– Help with activities of the events of the organization.
– Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms.
– Provide information by answering questions and requests.
– Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
– Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
– Write letters and emails on behalf of other office staff.
– Cover the reception desk when required.
– Maintain computer and manual filing systems.
– Reply to email, telephone, or face to face inquiries.
– Coordinate repairs to office equipment.
– Greet and assist visitors to the office.

Qualifications:
– Excellent customer service skills
– Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
– Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
